Andy Smith

Andy is a second-year Physiotherapy student at the University of Leicester. His interest in the profession grew from his own experience of spending years in physiotherapy after multiple injuries in a previous career. Seeing the impact that rehab had on his life pushed him toward a path where he could support others in the same way.

He has a particular interest in the psychological impact of injury and illness, especially for people living with long-term neurological conditions. He values being part of a client’s journey over time, observing their progress, adjusting treatment, and making care genuinely personal.

Andy is especially passionate about neuroplasticity and how the brain adapts through repetition and practice. This idea shapes much of his approach, and he enjoys seeing clients make steady, meaningful gains from session to session.

His wider interests sit in whole-body health and how lifestyle, sleep, nutrition, and stress influence recovery. Alongside his physiotherapy training, he holds a Level 4 qualification in Sports Massage Therapy. Outside the clinic, you’ll usually find him outdoors — camping, kitesurfing, paragliding — or working with horses, which he enjoys just as much!
